...buying textbooks is so hateful- my freshman year at CU-Boulder I had a textbook bill of some $500 dollars...these days my bill averages out to be about $150-200 because of the following:
- make friends and share books
- read the entire sylabus and check to see if a book is used more than 5 times- if it's not- use the library reserve
-if you really really need the book, a lot times you can find it a lot cheaper on these websites: half.com, amazon.com, coursesmart.com, textbooks.com
